Hi all,
I'm need a smallish AWD or 4-WD vehicle; the RAV4 is about the right size. I'd love to hear impressions/recommendations/opinions from those of you who have them. What do you like/dislike about them, and why?
TIA,
-kk

I have had my RAV4 since 1998 and its the best vehicle I have ever had as far as no maintenance costs, except oil changes etc. Have over
85k miles on it and it gets good gas mileage, 30mpg or so depending on speed, city or highway. I think they are very good. You also might want to check out the Suburu Baja. It looks like a nice concept to have pickup and suv in one vehicle. Also Suburu's are supposed to be very reliable too.John
I have had a RAV4 since their debut back in the 1996 model year. It currently has just over 60,000 miles on it, with no major costs in maintenance, other than oil changes, brakes, etc. I did just have to replace the tires for the first time, and since the RAV4 has 16" tires, they were more expensive than regular tires. However, that is an expense that only occurs every several years or so, so that is OK. As for the above recommendation for Subaru, HOW DARE YOU talk about SUBARU in a toyota newsgroup! Shame on you! The sacrilege! 8-)
