Replaced the head gasket on what I thought was a 22R. The exhaust gasket had two stud holes between cyls 2-3. My head has only one. Is this a 20R head? Never thought to measure the cyl bore when the head was off, so I don't know what engine I have. Thanx in advance, Dave

There is some overlap between the engines:

There is an interesting article at TRD about swapping heads.
Would you mind posting a link?

Boy, it's tough to get to. It's one of those type of links I *don't* think you can get to from the web site; you have to google it. Hang on (like this is live and you're hanging on my every letter....)
OK 15 mins later and I can't find it.
When I called Customer Experience they told me that changing the engine in my car (from a 22re to a 22re) was a 'modification' and could not give me any info. I bet someone found the pages and removed them, dammit! Very good aticles on placing different heads on different engines to crank them up.
Try Toysports. They may have the link:

HEY! They actually *HAVE* the article! When the page popos up, click in the box on the left that says "Tech Info" and then 20R/22R/22RE/22R-TE.
This is the article that was posted on TRD. Tells you all about what you can do with a 22R block and different heads.
Happy hunting!
