In Texas we don't put registration stickers on the license plates anymore. Instead they issue stickers for the inside of the front windshield. They used to be well made but the new ones are obviously printed out on inkjet printers and would be super easy to fake. The red ink in my official one faded to nothing in a few months. I don't think they considered what would happen when such stickers were used on windows without any anti-UV coating in them.
I can go to a shop to make new plates with no problem. I only have to give the numbers and pay (this is legal). Anyway, there are a lot of cars on the street showing their plates numbers...you don't need to dig on Internet for photos. If someone wants to hurt you I think that the plate number of your car is the last thing he will look for. Privacy....there are video cameras everywhere!!! I have already placed some photos of my car here with the plate number and no problem...

In most of the United States of America, this is illegal, only the government can issue plates. It's not like we have BS AU145a over here. The only state where you can have a plate made up is Delaware, and that's under some pretty unusual circumstances.

I did a research and now we have to show the car documents and they made them for you. The shops that sell the plates must have an especial authorization for that from the government and have to keep the registry of the sell for 5 years. This new law is from 3 of March 2005. So, I think that we are becoming more civilized:)

No, no, no, for a moment I thought that something was wrong with this country. It is only a law! Making new laws it's the only way the politics have to show that they are working. During the lunchtime I went to car parts shop and I asked them about new plate's issues and they told me that everyone can buy a machine to print the plates and we can buy them without showing the car documents and no one controls anything. So, everything is working just fine... this way we avoid bureaucracy and corruption. Crazy country!

LOL we will have elections on 22 of January for the President...so, they pass all day talking on the TV and radio about what they did, about what they are going to do and about what the other's should had done and didn't.

I am not a political animal at all and am not looking to spin this thread politically. I am just a bystander and the following is just an observation of the seemingly high spread of corruption in politics:
We recently had a major (democrat) here in CT that was caught with his hand in the cookie jar by steering city contracts to his buddies and their clients in exchange for bribes, kickbacks and other personal benefits. He was sent to jail for corruption.
The CT governor (republican) thought it was just terrible what this major had done - was outraged on TV about it, in fact. That is, until he got caught with his hand in a the same curruption cookie jar. He was also charged with corruption for taking bribes and is now in jail too..
You can trust politicians only as far as you can throw them.
I think we have it right on RAMVA: we have ourselves a king in the form of Jan... :)
I put her up on the Samba about a month ago...and she has been sold. She went to q very good home in the area.
