73 bug on it's last leg! Help again

Now I am trying to see why the engine wants to die when I step on the pedal. Well I went and tried to see if the injection tube was working ok and then I saw a problem. The boot on the intake pipe is rotted. I saw gas dripping from the bottom of it. I took the clamps off of it and saw on the bottom there was none. Lucky I guess the engine didn't catch fire. But now I need to get new ones., But have no idea how to change them. Do I have to take the intakes both off including the generator?

Thanks, Pete

Look for "split" boots. You just wraqp it around the joint without taking anything apart.

You can replace the intake manifold boots witht he engine still in the car. You just need to remove the left intake manifold and the center section. You will need new boots, new gaskets and a 13mm socket on a swivel tool. But Speedy Jims suggestion sounds the easiest.

Speedy Jim, Do such things exist as split boots? I thought of these a few years ago but couldn't find any. Got any hints where to look?
