A Little Help, Please?

i have a '71 Bus sitting in my garage. it has no engine, right now the rear end is up on jack stands at the jack points and a third jack stand is supporting the transaxle. i guess for reasons i don't know, VW decided that the transaxle needs the engine in with its crossmember support for the transaxle to be secure (this started with the '71, i think)



so...i need to move the vehicle, tow it to another location. putting in an engine, which i don't have, in order to secure the transaxle and move it is not an option.



any ideas??

You could take the tranny out !

You could 'tie' the tranny up.

You could make a support bar that runs from side to side and under the tranny.

oh yeah - it was 68 with the 1st bays they did this.

You can cut a 2x4 to a couple feet long. Drill 3/4" holes in each end, then string a chain through it. Bolt the chain ends to support each side of tranny to hold it in place.
