Backfire

Hi, just a quick question what would cause the engine to backfire after the ingnition is turned off?

1) carbon buildup in the combustion chamber and on valves (lots of short trips? Take her out on a continuous 2 hour road trip) 2) idle solenoid leaking or otherwise gasoline seeping through 3) overheating 4) all of the above, usually

5) too low octane gasoline or too high compression, same effect, gasoline is easier to fix.
