My battery went dead (kids left a light on) and the anti-theft alarm went mental. Anyway, I jumped it, ran it and all is good with the battery, except... the radio went into "SAFE" mode. It won't play. When I turn it on, it just says "SAFE." What the heck is that and how do you reset it?
I checked the manual. Nothing about radio-SAFE mode.
Can any of you VW afficianados help?
What kind of car ? What kind of radio ?

................This group is dedicated to 'aircooled' VW's. Your late model VW is watercooled. You should ponder what that means and then check out rec.autos.makers.vw.watercooled or better yet contact the service dept. at your nearest VW dealer.
BTW..........Once you get that access code for your radio from the dealer, you should write it on the inside of your trunk lid with a felt tipped marker like I did with my wife's honda.

Your owner's manual should have the code written somewhere along with intructions on how to use it.
