Found a lever!

Does that lever stick out of the fan housing?

'70 used such a lever to operate a steel cable which controlled the hot air inlet to the oil bath air cleaner. This was necessary in cold climate to prevent carb ice forming.

Yes it sticks out. But it has a spring tension holding it at 45 degrees, and I can pull it to its vertical position and ear something (maybe flaps) moving inside the fan housing. In the vertical position, te lever and the fan housing both have holes that coincide in that position, like it was supose to have a screw there. My question is: thoes its postion should be the 45 degrees that the spring tension oblies, or should I raise it to vertical and put a screw beteen the holes?

Yes it is directly connected to the flaps. The spring tension you feel, is the failsafe spring of the flaps (or the thermostat itself if it's still there). Leave the lever alone unless you want to use it to operate a lightweight flap somewhere like in the original aircleaner :)
