Ok, so I've been a bad boy.

Today, just minutes ago, I was cruising along on the freeway on my way to work, doing about 55. Speed limit is 75. A friend for whom I'm buildig an ACVW engine, flew past me, tooting his horn all the way, in his yellow Golf. I flashed my lights and kept on cruising for a while. Then the devil came to me and I decided to floor it :D Mind you, this is the 66 VW bus with reduction boxes.

By the time I caught him, he said I "Blew his doors off and rocketed past him", at what must have been over 90mph, since he was already driving a little over 75. LOL

I had the speedo needle resting firmly against the travel stop, on the "wrong" side... no way of telling how fast I was going. It would have gone a LOT further if there was no travel stop pin. :D The speedo scale ends at 75.

Parked the bus on the company parking lot and rushed to try the dipstick: barely warm. HAHA!

What can I say. I love my mild street Type 4 :D

Blimey, and what colour are your fingers & knuckles, or are they still on the steering wheel. My bus feels scarey at 50.

LOL

It was a bit scary yes, stock suspension and stock tires and rims... and drum brakes in all corners, haha I probably won't need to try that again anytime soon. I just wanted to know where the needle stops so I can estimate top speed. Sadly this plan didn't work, as the needle would need to travel well into second round on teh speedo face. The travel stop pin prevents that. Besides I'm not sure the speedo is accuarte anymore at those speeds.

I need to find a friend with a portable GPS nav system.
