Okay. I have the missing cooling bits for my Type 1 engine on hand. I have multiple diagrams. I have a small collection of tools. I have a Brazilian block that needs to have a hole drilled and tapped for the thermostat mount. I thought I was pretty much ready to start on Tuesday but have discovered to my dismay (see thread, "Lining Ducks Up: Tapping Brazilian Block for Thermostat") that drilling and tapping that simple stupid hold is going to require a lot more work than I, in my ignorance, thought. Jeepers -- the whole darn head is gonna get in the way of the drilling and tapping process.
I guess I need to pull the head. I thought that I was entering into dangerous territory pulling the engine. But the head? That's brain surgery, rocket science to me.
I have Muir and Bentley. I will study. Any links to "How 2 Pull A Head" websites?
