hi all, this is my first time posting and doing the job. i removed my engine already but i don't know how to go about removing the axel from the trans. i and another trans to go in. any help would be greay appreciated. thankyou!!!

Usually remove the entire gearbox along with both axles as one piece. There are 2 nuts at front mount and the 2 big bolts at the rear. Then the axle bearing hubs get unbolted from the trailing arms. Make some mark as to where the hubs fit on the trailing arm; this affects the rear alignment.
Need to disconnect the brake lines and also the Emerg brake cables. Plan on replacing all of them.
If you must remove the axles, take the drums off _before_ removing the tranny from the car.
