I am going to haul home the project tomorrow and am wondering what might be the best way to get the front turning. I noticed that the PO has unbolted the steering column from the dash assembly to try removing the ignition switch. Would the best method be to just unbolt the steering column from the box at the rag joint? It's been a really long time since I played with bugs and thought I would ask first. Thanks Chris V

That might be the easiest method. Or....you could punch the lock like the pros do.
You could take a door lock out and bring to locksmith to make a key; pretty sure '70 used on key.
