No Spark in my 69 Bus

The distributor is connected to the small negative terminal on the coil. The ignition switch is connected to the small positive terminal on the coil. Check to see if you are getting 12 volts to the small positive terminal on the coil.

If the Flamethrower doesnt work with either of two distributors I,d be looked at the Flamethrower. Got an old original coil you can quickly put back in?. For a daily driver I think its hard to go past the standard set up for reliability. I know the dwell angle extension is good thing but at ~3,500 rpm?. In my 65 Beetle ( was that 44 years ago, sigh) I put in a CDI. Went well but every time in rained ( or even high humidity) engine bay lit up with stray arcs to engine, between plug leads. John

I had a chance to look at the bus today and found that I have power to the coil, and no power past. Can the new coil go bad so fast? I will borrow a coil from my sons car and see if that may be the problem, I'll let you know what happens

Also, check the coil wire that goes to the distributor cap. That may be broken.

Found the problem, it was the new coil. Put in one I new worked and it hit on the first turn of the key. Thanks to those who responded.
