Is there any way to put and 8 mm stud pump on an engine that originally had a 6mm pump? Is it just a matter of changing the studs? Anything else?

The tang which drives the pump might be of different length, as in dished/non dished cam gear. I forget the years. Google is your friend, or online resources like Aircooled.net.
