Just thought this was interesting.

Antibiotics, 1 prescription - 30cents A blanket - 4 dollars

110 lbs of rice - 10 dollars Maternity package - 21 dollars

Feed an average size family for a month: 19 dollars.

Prices here are from a publication released by my bank.

Which is why the tsunami relief orgs are asking for cash rather than merchandise -- the money can do much more than what can be shipped in.

Oh yea, makes sense now.

On the news they also asked people to NOT donate clothes. They have plenty to pass around.

We had a local drama down here. A well known person (enologist) and his just married wife were on PhiPhi island on their honeymoon.

He had gone trekking and left his wife when the tsunami hit. His wife was not there when he got back. 8 days later, she was found in a morgue

2 hours away. This weekend were her funerals. Made the whole nation cry. Tv special reports and all...

Which when calculated as it is being in the last post, My bank account should be enough to rebuild their entire nation..................Well, A city block of it anyway..............I bet those prices don't get close to what construction costs are going to be..............

CNN also had a special this past weekend on the tsunami and it was also very heart wrenching.
