up their own ars..........
Sorry, but I don't see anything bad about that link or the name of the marketing model "Twist". Has the hate against VWoA darkened your minds already or am I missing something?
You are missing something alright. I was giving my impression. How friggin stupid is it to advertize a car as a block of ice parked on the street? What kind of discourse is that? Who wants to imagine a car as a hunk of frozen water, immobile, fragile, out of place, badly carved, amazingly expensive ad trick from the boyze who don't know any better. It's got nothing to do with VWoA but does point to the possiblility that VW's advertising mind is screwed all across the big water.
I seem to remember that VW's use of advertising has never really been mainstream... usually slightly out of the ordinary..

That really has less to do with VWoA and more with their advertising agencies....

I just got a flashback to that commercial where the licks the door handle to keep someone else from buying the car while his wife ran off to get the checkbook or something like that. Let's see him lick that door handle!

The word "twist", for english speaking people, gives an immediate association with lemon.. as in.. Twist of Lemon.. often used as an ingredient in the *best* of alcoholic beverages.. such as.. let me see now.. ahh yes, Cuba Libre!!
Lemon = "monday car", "bad to begin with", defective in many ways from the factory and should be recalled and replaced with a good one.
Owners of such vehicles have been known to seek comfort from alcoholic beverages, with or without Lemon Twist.
"twist" for scandinavian/nordic people probably means the dance called Twist. "Let's twist again, like we did last summer..... " Or maybe a candy of some kind, wrapped in paper.. you pull and *twist* the wrapping in order to get your greedy little fingers on the delicious innards. Most likely chocolate. Yes. Chocolate is good.
Chocolate and Cuba Libre.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I gotta go. ;)

Actually the first word to pop into my head in this game of association was "tornado", as in "twister".
Whether that's better or worse a term to apply to a car than lemon, I'm not sure.
Nope. Maybe the The Twisted Sister... "I know what you want, You want what we got..." ;) Man, that's long time ago.
I'll twist your wrist next time we see. ;)
I got an Imediate word association of a song too, But Different lyrics--
"Come on Bay be, ......Let's Do the Twist."
Way differnt meaning came to mind though!
LOL

It's is not, it isn't ain't, and it's it's, not its, if you mean it is. If you don't, it's its. Then too, it's hers. It isn't her's. It isn't our's either. It's ours, and likewise yours and theirs. -- Oxford University Press, Edpress News
Isn't that the same song?
Jan
Well, Jan, I don't rightly know right now. I could do some research, but am too tired, as I am in the process of moving..............Seems like there were a number of twist songs, ..............peppermint twist, and such. Thay could all be the same song for all I know.
By the way, Ya'll wish me luck. I'm changing to a DSL connection from my cable hookup..............Hope it works close to as nice as this cable stuff. And I hope I still get good News server postings. I see Howard Rose is having a bit of a time with his current setup.
hopefully by the weekend I will be online with the new stuff.
