What happened to the thread about yer nu bike??

Was it the second hand one, with all the Tuning goodies you got?

Jørn.

Nah, Shag's way too busy outrunning the cops to be sitting behind his PC :)

No, I decided to buy a new one with a warranty that I could tune up myself, but... it's funny you should ask since I *just* got all of my web pages back online including a new one... :-) For those of you who want to follow my quest for 130+ mph:

Uh... Make that 150... I have a strange feeling 130 is gonna be a little too easy to hit. :-D

150mph !!!! What bhp is the warrior? as we dont get it over here in the UK we only get the wild star, the HD wannabe with all the leather panniers and chrome trim, my neighbour has grey import version, and for some reason (takeing the p#ss) I always end up singing the Village People song YMCA when he and his mates get together for a ride

Just around 75 hp. Very torquey engine, though. That's why I said "quest" for 150 mph. From the factory this bike is supposed to be good for 130-135 mph. I've hit 110 4-5 times so far and it came FAST. It was obvious it had a lot left in it, but I'm trying to "take it easy" on it a little bit until I hit the 1000 mile mark. Today after work I removed the AIS (smog pump) from the bike which is supposed to help a little. (I have a web page halfway finished showing the procedure... will finish it tomorrow) Also installed a brake-light modulator. Plan on lowering it a couple of inches, putting a set of pipes on it, have a PIAA bulb for the headlight on order, found out how to reprogram the ECU (engine control unit) to adjust air/fuel mixture (free mod) and plan on doing that when the pipes go on, put on a BAK (big air kit) for a start. I'm thinking I should have all of that finished within... 3 months time at the most. With that I think it should be good for ~ 145 mph. I'll see what it does and go from there. :-) I'll post updates to the website I made for it.

Travis, where do you get hold of the brake modulator thingy? Illegal as hell up here, but maybe a good idea...

have lots of stuff like that. I bought a headlight modulatorfrom them that I ran on my last bike. Looking at their list ofinternational dealers I see dealers listed in Norway, Germany,Ukraine, UK, Australia, etc, etc. You sure they're illegal up there? All they do is pulse your brake light. You could do that "manually"so it seems like it would be hard to get in trouble over a device likea brake-light modulator.

No disrespect, but the Kuryakyn Hypercharger had nothing to do with increasing performance. It's a pure poseur thing. Any air cleaner with less restriction than stock would offer the same thing.

Nice. :-) Touched 115 today... felt good... so touched 120 a couple of hours later... Felt better... :-)

Thanks Travis.

Just back from working 12 hours straight on my bike, finally got my finger unstuck after 2 years!(I have even paid insurance and road tax during those two years.. sigh, expensive to be lazy).

Went through the carbs again, this time with new rubber gaskets o-rings etc. pluss I installed a Factory Pro(brand) jet kit with Titanium needles.

Was hoping to fire it up tonight, but decided to drain some fuel from the tank, as what was in one carb looked suspicious, and what came out was indeed looking weird, shone a torch down there and what did I see? RUST! Lower back half of the tank was covered in it.. Took apart the filler latch so I could get my hand in there, was able to dig out spoonfuls of the s**te with my bare fingers....

Not to happy now.

Got the fuel pump and filter assembly out, with the electrical connectors etc. The guy I work for has access to a blast cabinet(glass), so I hope to have that done soon.

Once one gets started its annoying to have to come to a halt because of something like this.

Well, at least the carbs, filter box and all the electrics are back in place, just tank and lower fairings left now..
