OT:squareback and cushman find (among many other things!) long

My buddy called me today and asked if I wanted to go check out an overgrown property in town where he had seen a mid 50's GMC Suburban. He found the old lady that owned the prop and she had said that the county is coming down on them right now about alot of the car on the property right now and stuff gotta go.

He actually called me because he thought that she had said there was a real old Volvo on the property to and I used to be into the "amazon's". as soon as I walked into the overgrown lots through the small gate at the street I spotted a wagon under a tarp Not a Volvo, but even better a Squareback! Good shape too, allthough the front end is somewhat dissasembled and theres no motor. This guy owned a marina in the 50's-60's here in town, when he sold it this property became his shop/hobby area. We didn't get to go into the garage (yet) but there is Tons of cool vintage stuff! There are 6 cars there: late model squareback, 62' rambler classic 2dr (I had a 61' ahh memories), 69? Rambler rebel wagon, some 80's Olds GUTless fwd wagon, 77? Nova 2dr, and 54-55' suburban. Not to mention there are vintage boat motors scattered EVERYWHERE, ranging from 3hp evinrudes to huge Chris-Craft powerplants. There are remanats of wooden runabouts a really cool

50's 30 foot travel trailer (forgot the name, its not an Airstream but its all AL). The Coolest thing there is a cushman scooter. I spotted the back of it under a tarp This is not your normal scooter, it's a reverse trike with a bed/box on the front over the axle. Its pretty complete back end is like a late 40's road king? (If anyone is into Cushman's, help a brotha' out on some info) She said he used to drive it around all the time. We're gonna pull most of the vehicles out to get the county off her back. we want the scooter but I think we're gonna have to deal (she's still sharp as a tack even in her late 80's) I also want to be on her good side when she decides to get rid of the tools etc.. Theres compressors, presses, hoists (and thats just the stuff outside!) She also said there was a another travel trailer less than half the size of the big one there but the same style, and another boat on another property. I told her I would really like to see those also.

So thats my story, Hopefully I'll get some pretty neat stuff to play with and help out a pretty cool old lady! Mark Detro Englewood, FL
