Other VW gauges

While I'm at it, I have a VDO CHT gauge and a bunch of VDO sensors (sparkplug type) and also a CB mixture gauge. I have no use for any of that stuff any more with the Soobey in Bussy. Make me an offer. - BaH

The air/fuel ratio guage from CB? I might be interested if the price is reasonable.

Good question. See the illustration in that ad? Isn't that just about the worst place for the sensor? I mean with long manifolds the mix can be different down by the intake port due to fuel pooling on the sides of the manifold. No?

It goes in the exhaust just like a regular O2 sensor in a late model car.

Sorry I probably read into your post too far but when you said intake port I was thown off. I've read enough posts from you here yo know you would know where a O2 sensor goes.......

not sure i follow you completely John, but in the collector is about the only place you can put the oxy sensor..it works best the closer it is to the exhaust port, but the collector would be the closest place to moniter them all at the same time....i guess you could run four gauges and four sensors and put them right off the port flange....but i'll be happy with an "average" reading i guess...hehe

Would like to put that in English, please?

Are we all on the same planet? I think not. We are talking about oxygen-fuel on the INTAKE and not the oxy-exhaust thing. Okay, are landed yet?

OK, hold everything just a minute while I go pop some popcorn to watch this. I'll be right back...

apparently not john, because , to the best of *my* knowledge, *all* exhaust gas anylizers whether permenant or for testing are installed on the exhaust side of the engine...the fuel mixture is very reliably measured, by the amount of oxygen/etc in the exhausted gases

Here, let me try: You're dumb like a stump.

Gads, I screwed up entirely. I thought the illustration was showing the carb and intake manifold. I'm an idiot. Sorry. Very sorry for that.

I glanced too quickly, recalled an aircraft sensor from way back, and went wrong.

Okay, I owe you one big time.

hmmm...YES YOU DO....but I'll be nice here....i'd probably accept a 58 corral red vw type 1 as an apology....okay?

My post was not intended as insulting your intelligence...... was not my intention at all and figured it was a misunderstanding.

.................Please stick around Mac and get to know us better. John Stafford is just a cranky old fart who isn't as bad as he sounds sometimes. There are several of us regulars here who take some getting used to. This news group is like a big dysfunctional family in some ways. But yet, aside from that, there's a lot of love and respect for each other here that'll make you want to puke on your keyboard if you just give us a chance to grow on you.......LOL
