hello guys, i just wrecked my 00 BMW 540, and ill be driving my 69' vw bug. I have a question. it has the automatic stickshift, wich i hate, is there any way i can swap the manual 4 speed from my 71 superbeetle, into the 69? If so please email me, at snipped-for-privacy@webtv.net, thanks

chances are real damn good that your 69 chasis does *not* have the clutch cable tube installed fromt the factory...

Agreed. In the early years, VW engineers were going to save a bundle by building some chassis with the conduit and others without. (yeah, sure) After 3 or 4 years they saw what a nightmare it made on the factory floor and put the tube in all of them.
