Rob, What are you using under the distributor cap?
If it's the ol' points.............Adjust them and see if that helps..............while you're in there take a look and make sure the little wire inside is not shorting to ground by any means, and as cheap as they are,............put a condensor on it.
That's my first shot at a cure.
Next,..............Spend a few and put the Pertronix Setup on it and you can eliminate all the point stuff..........It's a good setup fo those who hate doing the constant point gap maintenance.
