OK, I'm starting to feel damn silly.

I didn't look at the pics pointed to, but I have had similar issues installing cables. If the cable end ( the part that attaches to the carb) is to long just take it to the grinder and cut about 1/8" off it and try it. For some reason the after factory parts I have gotten (some actually VW factory pieces too) have a bit too much of a lug on the end and can't get past a small curve.


This also applies to heater cables on some .

Length isn't the issue in this case. The end is too big around.
