Saw my 67 bug in "Hide and Seek movie"

Last night I went to see the movie "Hide and Seek". I had rented my car for use in this picture and was anxious to see how it was used. Well, the car had 2 scenes where it was sitting in the driveway and 1 scene, shot at night with the car driving into the driveway of the house. The car stops, you hear the emergency brake engage and the girl gets out,she closes the door and being an airtight VW the door doesn't close tightly, she turns around and with her foot kicks the door closed! We all let out a collective gasp and started laughing. I guess this proves that if you give them your car, anything can happen. (There was no damage to my door by the way). But I will have to say,the old girl looked pretty good up there on the silver screen. In my opinion, seeing the VW in this movie was the best part of the film. Also, the filmmakers left my Vintage Vokswagen Club of America circular window sticker in place in the driver's side rear window----a nice touch!

Yeah,it was cool seeing the car in the movies. Jerry Immersi Cars for Films located me through the internet and I drove my car into Queens, New York for its' screen test. The director took one look and said it was perfect. Apparantly, the Savannah Beige color is very photgenic as they tend to steer away from bold colored cars. I left the car with Jerry Immersi for over 2 weeks and it was flatbedded to each shooting location. It was all very professional and when they were done they flatbed trailered it and dropped it off at my house in Northern NJ. I'd recommend doing this with your car if you ever get a chance. Fred

I saw that movie. It was horrible... but as soon as I saw the bug I started bouncing up and down in my seat yelling "Hey! I know that bug!.... Sorta! It's Fred's!"

It did look great. Too bad it didn't get more screen time.
