Ever since I got the Wonderbus, there has been this odd rattle-rustle-FLAP! sound that would emanate from the driver's side air ducting . . . happened one time only per trip and only when hitting freeway speed so I could not determine if it was the fresh-air vent or the defrost vent where the sound was coming from. One of those things you file away to look into later.
This afternoon there was a rattle then a small red square of card stock blew out of the defrost vent, launched itself into the air and fluttered into my lap.
I picked it up and examined it. Matchbook cover. "The Wharf" printed on it in tiki-style lettering. The red fading to pale pink along the upper edge. No telling how long that thing has been in there, and no telling where the formerly exotic Wharf restaurant or bar was, and whether it is still in business as a seedy rundown alcoholic's hangout or has long since vanished and been replaced with a taco stand. But at least this was one little problem that has corrected itself.
