any suggestions on what's best to remove the everyday grit which has accumulated over the years on the fiberglass poptop of our '82 westy? it looks almost as if a bleach of some type might be needed. thanks any advice. art

Try a 50/50 mix of ammonia and alcohol or you could use comit.
Mario Vintage Werks resto
Softscrub kitchen cleaner with a sponge and elbow grease, followed by a coat of caranuba wax once it's clean. I once worked for a fiberglass boat detailer in Florida and that's what we used on million dollar fishing boats - worked like a charm.
Just don't wax below the waterline :D On faster boats the friction of water will burn up the wax..
fellas: many thanks for the good info. art, '82 westy
