If its the small single window in back its pre 1957 --- but you can buy fiberglass pieces to replicate the small window.

Which prt of it are you interested in dating?...........it is many years models of Beetles. At the very least 2, or 3.

Judging by the large window doors and the small pillars I'd say definately a late model Bug, at least a '64 or even later.

sorry didn't see the beetle in question but 64 is the last year of the thicker post so according with Dan E's description it would have to be 65 and up

It's a '66 but has been heavily modified. You won't find much of what you see in that picture on a stock Volkswagen. That car is know as the `Lab Rat' and was featured in the May 2004 issue of VW Trends.
