where's the flasher on a 72 Bug?

Mar 20, 2006 5 Replies

Hi,

I just got a 72 Beetle (Super) and the flashers do not work. Hazards either. All other lights work, fuse has been changed already.

I cannot locate the flasher relay. Anyone know of an online VW manual with pictures/? I bought a manual from Kragen - guess what ONE item is not shown? FLASHER!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Jim

Great - thanks!

Here's my second problem - can't get the trunk open. I can push the button, but it will not unlatch it.

Any tricks to getting it open?

As you can see, I am no VW expert, so bear with me.... I am learning... with all of you help, of course...

Thanks, Jim

Get a helper. Have him/her pull the trunk release cable in the glove box. At the same time, you push/pull hard on the handle (button depressed).

Well, there is a little lever mounted to the left side of the inside of the glove box - is that the trunk release?

BTW - do not EVER buy a Chilton manual for this car - it is useless for basic stuff like this for a person who has never owned a Bettle before.

Thanks to all who have offered help so far... surely I will need more!

:-)
