We used to have a 1969 VW Beetle Convertible. We bought it at a garage sale. It had been advertised as being in the sale in our local paper. I had always intended to fix it up and resell it, but at the time I didn't want to take on things like replacing the floor pans and such. After a few years I sold the car to a fellow who had a body shop and fiddled around with Bugs. He got right on it and fixed it up and finally sold it again. The current owners contacted me yesterday to find out more about the car so I told them all I knew about it. They wanted copies of any pictures I might have of the car, but I seem to have failed to take any photos of that particular car...but while rummaging around on the hard drives I ran across a picture I did take at the Chickasaw, Oklahoma swap meet one year. It really is neat and seeing it now I wish I'd bought it!
It is worth digging around to find a picture of this car as it really is nice (she sent me one via email.) They live not too far away so we might take the '59 out for a Sunday drive one of these days and give them a visit!
