How does one access and read codes for this car? Is a tool needed and what model is it? Any help wpuld be greatly appreciated.

On a 93, you use the diagnostic connector under the bonnet next to the windscreen washer filler, attached to the front of the ECU box.
There is a fly lead which you plug into a different hole depending on which system you wish to read codes from. You then invoke them by pressing the button and watching the red LED.
I can give you the button pressing sequence if you say which systems you wish to read specifically.
