Can't you tell by the noise it made when it stopped?
IIRC my 850 was. That suggests that the V70 also is, because it's basically the same car with a different label as far as I know.

But there are lots of engine variants - some may be interference and some not (although I suspect that most are).
Yes it is an interference motor I had once issues with an Alfa interference engine and the damage was minor ! I try very hard not to remember the Alfa like my Volvo 264 best to try to forget such engines .I do not trust engines that are designed by people who eat snails and frogs .I shall think of some smart wit comment re Italian engines as well . May be the fact in Italian they say right and left not left and right and the book was translated so that the cams were out 180 degrees .SERIOUSLY
