What would be the correct idle speed in a 2004 xc70? (34,000 miles) Mine seems a little rough at 750rpm, while at standstill. No problem with acceleration though. Paul

If you're looking for idle as smooth as a Lexus, you've got the wrong car. If your idle is rougher than the average Volvo, it's possible that the throttle module is starting to fail. Idle speed should be 800 rpm
- but you can't rely on your tachometer for verification - in my '98s the idle is very close to 800 rpm, but the tachs read around 900-950. Also possible is a problem with engine mounts - when one of the hydraulic mounts fails, more vibration is transmitted to the car's body.
