Is there anything I should check before replacing the dash AC switch? I've checked everything I can. The compressor still comes on. I've looked at the solder on the board but I don't have the expertise to judge whether anything is bad or not. I did resolder the compressor connection and the switch worked fine for about a year.
However, now the fan has stopped. The fan motor is fine just won't come on. The relay was very rusted and looked in generally bad condition so I replaced it. If I can't find some way to confirm that it's the switch that is bad my next choice is to be robbed by the local indie shop. Their main concern is ALWAYS maximum billing. Not customer service. Unfortunately, they know Volvos and at a dear price it will get fixed.
