'96 850 odometer stopped, advice welcome...

did this myself. I don't recommend the "bend the left side of thedash up" method though. It's an incredibly hard task to squeeze thepod through that little gap while straining to hold the dash up. To reinstall it, I finished removing the whole dash cover (more screws, glovebox, airbag bolts, airbag cable) . This made it possible to just drop the cluster in.

first gear was malformed (top), so I had to wait 2 weeks whileodogears got his molding machine fixed and delivered another one(left) I drove it for the week with with the dash cover off and a 2.5 ohm resistor stuck in the airbag harness connector to prevent it from generating an airbag fault. and then popped the cluster out again when the new one arrived.

Tell me, did you have it at the point where you could have put a new evaporator core in it?? Sounds like you did A LOT of work!

93-95 850's. I don't know about the later models. You can run the mileage forward with a small motor and a rubber wheel while you have the odometer apart to reset the actual mliage. http:/

If you want to reset the odometer to actual mileage, you may be able to get the actual mileage from the CPU using A7 on 93-95 850's. Not sure about 96. Use a small motor and a rubber model wheel to rotate the odometer while you have it apart, before you put in the new gear.
