Air con pump 1997 850

Not had a real look yet....but how difficult is it to remove and replace the air conditioning pump on a 1997 850. A quick look under the bonnet shows it to be pretty well buried...Is this one of those jobs where you start by by removing the back lights!!!! Can it be got at from underneath? Any tips welcome. ttfn.....Alistair

Get a pro and specialized workshop to do it. the system is under pressure with refrigirant. Refrigirant is EXPENSIVE! Not to mention it can be hazardous. Plenty of them companies around.

Gettng the pump itself out is pretty straight forward.

Getting it out may be straight forward .. I can assure you that when I gave my

850 to one of those specialist workshops, a couple them specialist workshop mechanics had one hell of a time finding working room for their spanners and ratchets to put the compressor back in after reconditioning the clutch on it.
