Trying to get a new tie rod end for my 1998 Volvo V70 T5. Online parts company says "You can determine the original steering rack brand by looking at the product plate, which is located on the driver side wheel well. Check the fifth line of the plate and the last digit. 4 = TRW, 5 SMI." Well, this just isn't so. The product plate on my car ends in a letter, not a number. Does anyone know a better way do determine steering rack brand?
