What does it take?Pull the engine?orLoosen exhaust pipe and take off exhaust manifoldIntake manifold etc, timing belt, water pump etcRemove head?TIA

You can get a coolant overflow bottle that can take a coolant sensor level, or you can watch for the puffs of steam that come up.

Ouch, that's too bad, that was a nice car, but even if it was repaired it would likely never be the same :(
