V70 probs.

Have 1998 V70 2.5 .

  1. When closing the drivers door the lights do not always go out when inserting key. Have to bang the door shut if this occurs. I believe there is a microswitch in the door lock...does it have to be replaced or is there a tweeak I can do?

  1. The tickover speed sometimes falls both when the aircon is on and when off. Falls to about 500 - 600rpm from a norm of 900. Car has throttle cable, etc not fly by wire! Is there an simple remedy for this?

Many thanks....John Lowe UK

The microswitch is part of lock mechanism, as you surmise. Maybe cleaning and lubricating both the mechanical part and the switch will help. If not, electronic supply stores should be able to supply a suitably sized switch.

Under the throttle pulley cover is also the idle motor. Clean that and the throttle body.
