Why I love my 240

I managed, on my birthday AND wedding anniversary, and after dropping my wife's overheating car off at the mechanic, to get into a car wreck. It really took the thrill out of the day.

Everybody walked away without injury. Everything else in this world can be replaced. It was quite a wakeup call about priorities.

My 240 took a hellacious hit, and i did drive it home, but I am not certain what the claims adjuster is going to say. I can now see the sidewalk through the trunk where the rear bumper USED to be.

My wife, who used to have an '86 240, has talked trying to find another vehicle for her own use. With a 5 year old, I think I'd take an old Volvo over darn near any new vehicle out there

Thank heaven for the 240. I may never drive anything else.

That's a great story (except for the loss of your 240). I'm glad everyone was fine. I agree with you and am looking forward to getting my 240 back this spring.

If you're in the US check eBay motors, there are usually lots of 240s available. In Canada the selection is less good.

I lucked into a 760 for the winter but it's not half the car my 240 is.

Happy Birthday. Way to survive! blurp
