I have an '87 German Model Jetta with a 5 speed manual transmission. During a clutch job, my buddy and I broke the EGR box on the thing, forcing me to get a one piece cable from autozone.(Special order no less) However, it doesn't seem to be working. I've plugged it into the tranny, tightened the bolt down, and drove w/o the cluster in to test and see if the inner part of the cable spins. No dice. I've checked, and there are no kinks in the cable. I have tried putting it into the transmission a few different times, but no luck on any of them. I may be putting the thing in incorrectly, but by the looks of it, I thought it would just be a matter of plugging it into the tranny, then the cluster, and that's it. Apperantly I was wrong.
If anyone's got a good idea for me, please let me know as I'm at my wits end with this one!
