2003 VR6 GTI A/C

Hi all,



I have a 2003 GTI VR6 with the Climatronic (sic) A/C system. A couple of days ago it started making a loud vibrating/growling sound from under the passenger side glove box. Once it makes this sound, the A/C becomes warm. If I change the temp, it makes the same sound and sometimes it will become cool again. I will be taking it to the dealer for repair, as it is still under warranty.



Has anyone had any experience with this? Any insight would help so I will not have to rent a car for so long as it is in the shop for repair.

Blower fan may be going bad, if so figure about an hour after it hits the shop.

I don't think it's the blower motor. When it is making this sound, the fan never changes speed. The air is still blowing, but it just gets warm. Are there any vacuum operated devices such as doors etc, in the AC system that open and close at different intervals?
