On my old 89 Jetta, the door handles are failing, mostly because the latch have broken off or something else.
Is there a replacement door handle (either from newer models of other models) that's the whole-bar type (the type where you just pull the door handle and the same movement opens the door in one shot), or do I have to replace it with those latch type (where you press on a latch to open the door)?

I'm not sure what the names of those door handles are called, but on the 89 Jetta, you click on some sort of "trigger" and it opens the door... Whereas newer Jetta has that "pull-on-the-handle" and the door will open type...

Not easily...
If you keep the handles lubricated, they will last a lot longer.
I'm parting out an '89 Jetta...
