'03 Golf - 5 minutes into a 2-week road trip the ESP (electronic stabilization program) warning light came on. After I figured our what the icon was for I continued on the trip. The light sometimes comes on as soon as the engine is started, more often after one or two turns on the road. The ABS light stays off.
It goes back to the dealer Friday. Any known chronic problems in this system that I should be aware of?

May be brake light switch sticking on. The next time it's on look and see if the brakes lights are on when pedal isn't pushed.
Strange, but the brake light on our '03 Passat has been sticking also, we only notice it after we have parked it for the evening. And the ESP light has been coming on while driving, usually after we've been driving for a 1/2 hour and doesn't go out until we turn off the ignition.
It goes to the dealer tomorrow and we'll see.
