Groaning Front End

Jul 11, 2003 0 Replies

Hi Everyone,

Over the last couple of weeks, I have noticed that the front end of my Carat seems to be making a groaning/squeaking/rubbing noise when going over bumps or steering hard at low speeds. Any ideas as to what might cause this?

The strut mount bearings are new, as well as 2 ball joints and I think the sway bar bushings. I know that my engine mounts are nearing the end, but I don't think that their failure would cause this kind of groaning.

Vehicle Stats:

-1989 Jetta Carat, 1.8L PF engine, Auto Trans

Thanks,

Peter
