Hi-
I have an '89 Golf 5-Speed. Just minutes ago, it started making a loud TWACK, accompanied by a single, large vibraition. Thought I had a branch stuck under the car. So I pulled forward, looked under the car and under the hood and didn't see anything obviously wrong. It made the noise again when I reversed into my parking space. It did not make the noise under very gentle acceleration in reverse.
Does this sound like a motor mount?
