JO BO- back to the window cable thing

One long piece. Longer then you would expect, get maybe 10 feet. You won't need all of it but as I recall it's not easy to get the extra all at one end due to wrapping and threadding it. My local hardware store carries cable in various sizes by the foot and the smallest was only slightly thicker then the original. How about going to a salvage yard and get a "sample" out of a junker for a few bucks to use as a model? I repaired mine when they started binding before they broke so I had a picture before I started.

That's the problem, the sample will cost me huge dollars. I'll pull the back door apart and look at that one to see how it works.
