Question on 88 jetta wipers

Do the wiper arms stop consistently (park) at the same spot? Then you need to adjust the arm on the wiper motor. Just let them park, turn off the ignition, then loosen with a wrench the nut that secures the arm to the wiper motor. Try not to let that arm move much! Wiggle loose the arm so you can adjust the wiper arms to their park position without moving the shaft of the motor. Then retighten the nut on the shaft without breaking it off.

Then test the wipers again making sure your fingers are out of the way. :-)
