We have had two VW Bugs, and with the OEM radio and after market radio we still do not get good AM signals, any ideas. The first had a fender mounted antenna and the convertible has one in the window.

The usual problem is the antenna. I wonder if you could borrow a standard antenna and see if it works better, be sure it is grounded to the car.

Nothing new there, my wifes cheap GM radio in ther Chevy BLOWS away any VW radio on AM!
