I noticed the UK VW sites with the Touran
Touran TDI avability in US
Hell, AFAIK they're not even bringing over the gas version.

You're high. VWOA will never bring us a great product like that.
Go buy a Mexican Jetta, willya?
There was an article on Friday's USA Today on the Passat TDI and Touareg TDI. It says the Touareg TDI went on sale already in mid-March but only 440 are supposed to be brought in this year (VERY low number).
The Passat TDI is supposed to be 10K-12K in number before it's discontinued (looks like VWoA isn't planning to offer a TDI version of the next Passat).
Do you mean Tourag availability?
Oh OK thanks. I never saw one of these.
Think of it along the lines of the following vehicles:
Dodge Colt Vista wagon Nissan Stanza wagon / Axxess Honda Odyssey / Isuzu Oasis (first generation with the regular car doors, not the current van with the sliding doors)
Other companies sell similar vehicles in Europe (e.g. Ford Focus C-MAX). Space efficient packaging appears to be more popular there (a smaller vehicle fits in crowded cities and uses less fuel, while the van-shape maximizes interior room).
