Original DeSoto and Dodge Catalog Art
Below are listed 19 pieces of original Mopar advertising art from 1953-72. One is a DeSoto, the rest are Dodges. All of these items were originally commissioned by the big ad agency, BBD&O, for use in De Soto and Dodge showroom catalogs and magazine advertisements. I acquired them years ago from a friend who worked for the agency.
They are, for the most part, air brush renderings. All are mounted on heavy art boards. The original cost to the ad agency was reportedly as high as $1500 per rendering.
The descriptions are as accurate as I can make them. The overall dimensions of the items are followed by the dimensions of the image area in parentheses. That is because the "boards" are often much larger than the actual image. (Sometimes the image is the full size of the board, and there is nothing in parentheses.) All items are done in full color unless otherwise noted.
The prices I've noted are my estimates of the retail market value. I had around
