converson 3.8 to 4 2

Help please... Hi i have a 91 t bird sc super charged3.8L the motor was blown and i had a 4.2L i stripped both blocks and instulled all external parts on to the 4.2 the blocks are identical except the spark control
sensor unit mounting bracket, on the 3.8 it's molded into the block and on the 4.2 it's mounted on the timing chain cover. i rigged up a mount by drilling 2 small holes into the ear of the block and it is posissioned 99% accurate, now the motor should run but i get no spark ( distributer less engine) i had all electronic componants tested and all good checked and doubled all connections and plugs still no spark, the sensor is positioned at about10 oclock on 3.8 and about 11 on the 4.2 i diden't think it would make a difference cause of the total converson i'm useing the same comp witch tested good, i could change the timing chain cover to 4.2 so i could use the mounts for the spark pickup unit and use the gear type pully but then it dosen't match up with the other pullys the 3.8 pully is band and slot for the spark pickup and sproket and slash on the 4.2. i'm at whits end can anybody help all sudgestions greatly welcomed thanks birdman 91

Just a thought... remove the CPS, leave wiring connected, and, with key on, run a magnet by it.
